Oh, holidays - how we love them. Let us count the ways... The shifting time zones, the excitement of getting on the plane,
cultural expectations, sights to see, new languages to decipher and - of course - lashings of sunshine to do it all in.
Sounds exhausting, doesn't it?
While we've all scheduled in a day with our feet up at least once while on holiday, it's fair to say you probably wouldn't expect to go to bed as part of your evening's entertainment.
So as we head into the final week of National Bed Month, we've rounded up some bizarre bed-themed attractions throughout the globe where you can expand your cultural experiences and put your feet up away from the hotel.

Miami, Florida
For those nights when you're not sure whether you want to go out on the town or collapse into bed, you can benefit from the best of both worlds at B.E.D. Nightclub in Miami. Although the acronym stands for Beverage Entertainment Dining, don't let the name deceive you. Tables are in the form of double beds where guests can eat and drink from the comfort of their very own mattresses. Located in the city's exclusive South Beach district, you can party in privacy at the tug of a curtain, but if it's not past your bedtime, you can wine and dine outside of the sheets in the club's more traditional VIP section.

Newry, Northern Ireland
If Miami's a bit too far away for a night out, head to Northern Ireland where you can book a bed a little closer to home. Situated in picturesque County Down, the Newry Bed club can arrange for a bus to pick you up from your Belfast hotels, and you'll be tucked up in one of their VIP beds before you can say "strike a (re)pose". Be sure to book early and don't forget your novelty party hats; this club is a hen party favourite and is anything but sleepy - particularly on the weekends.

Düsseldorf, Germany
Fancy a laid back weekend auf Deutsch? Dream your day away on Düsseldorf's first bed-themed boat, and board The Bedtaste Floating Restaurant on the OceanDiva Futura. Situated just off the Rhine promenade near the city centre, you can cruise down one of Europe's most famous rivers, the Rhine, while munching on a multi-course meal in one of their luxury beds. There's also a DJ to wake you up after the food coma kicks in. If you still want to party after that, the city's Altstadt area (also known as The Longest Bar in the World), has over 300 drinking holes to choose from.

London, UK
If you've been trekking through a hectic city like London where walking and standing are a large part of the standard sightseeing experience, you might want to break the day up with a bit of pampering outside of the London hotels. If you've never tried it before, why not have a splash and a snooze in a floatation tank. Also known as float therapy, you lie down in a water-filled bath that's about the size of a sunbed. While the treatment combats the signs of stress, it also helps you sleep better and reduces jetlag too - perfect for tired out tourists!
