RHS Chelsea Flower Show, 24 - 28 May
Experience the world's most famous garden event, and what has also become one of the most respected and celebrated design exhibitions of the year. Witness mind-blowing designs and dazzling gardens set within the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, in south west London.
Trooping The Colour, 11 June
Join the crowds outside Buckingham Palace to witness the annual ceremony marking both the Queen's birthday and British infantry. Book London hotels close by and get there early to witness the full procession of horse guards, members of the cavalry and even HRH Queen Elizabeth herself.
Taste of London, 16 - 19 June
Get a taste of the capital's finest gastronomic delights at this Michelin-star-studded food festival, held in the leafy setting of Regents Park. Watch demonstrations by leading chefs, enjoy a spot of wine tasting, and sample taster dishes from of The Cinnamon Club and Le Gavroche.
BT Paralympic World Cup, 23 - 28 May
Support the elite international Paralympic athletes as they compete in swimming, athletics, wheelchair basketball, and volleyball. In its sixth year now, previous PWCs have proven to be exciting competitions indeed - four world records were made at last year's event alone.
Stockport Beer & Cider Silver Festival, 2 - 4 June
For a pint of Manchester's finest, head to Edgeley Park in June for some quality refreshments and a whole host of local entertainment. Organised by the CAMRA, the Campaign For Real Ale, you'll have a choice of over 150 stouts, ales, perries and cider. No advance ticket required.
Manchester International Festival, 30 June - 17 July
This artist-led event takes place every two years, presenting some of the world's best original works from the visual and performing arts. This year's festival sees creative work from new and familiar names, plus live performances from a variety of artists including Snoop Dogg and Björk.

Edinburgh Marathon and Festival, 21 May

Edinburgh International Film Festival, 15 - 26 June

Royal Highland Show, 23 - 26 June
Escape the humdrum of the city at this much-loved agricultural festival. In addition to the vital farming and livestock business going on, you can enjoy live entertainment, animal shows, indulge in the Food Hall, and even shop for fashion and gifts from a range of local independent designers.
