El Medano is a small holiday resort town on Tenerife’s sunny south coast about 7 km from the southern Airport and 20 km from the busy resorts of Los Cristianos and Las Americas. This fishing village offers good facilities for sunbathing and other beach holiday activities and the flat sandy beach is famous for having hosted the world windsurfing championships. El Medano has a fine selection of restaurants and bars with local fresh fish as the specialty. The pleasant town square has narrow streets with bars and pavement cafes and the esplanade is lined with shops. Two nature areas around Montana Roja and Montana Pelada are walking distance away.
