Los Gigantes is situated on the western side of Tenerife, and is named after the magnificent cliffs that grace the bay and provide breathtaking views around this small finishing village. The channel between Los Gigantes and the neighbouring island of La Gomera is a haven for dolphins and whales, and is renowned for their large numbers. There are many restaurants and bars as well as leisure activities including tennis and a sports centre. Los Gigantes is also one of the best locations on Tenerife for diving, with extensive marine life around the coast, and numerous top diving sites. Los Gigantes marina is the base for boat trips to view the dolphins and whales as well as diving and scuba diving excursions. This magnificent stretch of the west coast enjoys the longest hours of sunshine on the island and has pleasant and warm temperatures all year round.
