Playas de Orihuela, or the Orihuela Coast, consists of 16 km of coastline including a great variety of beautiful beaches such as Punta Prima, Playa Flamenca and La Zenia, as well as hidden coves to suit all tastes. There is a scope of leisure activities and amenities such as shopping centres, restaurants with all types of cuisine, banks, chemists and five marinas. Three 18-hole golf courses are within only 10 km, the closest being Campoamor, one of the most panoramic of the courses in the region. Orihuela was the Episcopal seat of the province of Alicante for almost four centuries and its civic traditions and artistic heritage are stamped by this major religious influence. The Orihuela Costa enjoys a fantastic temperate climate and is renowned for being one of the healthiest places on earth to live, basking in over 300 days of sunshine every year and has an average temperature of around 20 degrees centigrade and very low rainfall. The wonderful, safe “blue flag’ beaches, fine climate and abundance of activities and entertainment make Playas de Orihuela an attractive destination for holiday makers.
