Turunc is a lively little resort located 120 km from Dalaman Airport and sheltered by the hills along a clean and beautiful bay. The beach is beautiful and unspoilt and the sea clear and unpolluted – perfect for young families who wish to relax while their children play on the beach. Eating out is casual, relaxed and very reasonable and the atmosphere is extremely friendly. Even though Turunc has over 30 bars and restaurants and many shops, it still retains the character of a small Turkish village. Many ex-pats now live in Turunc and nearly all the locals are able to speak fluent English. It is easy to reach the nearby resorts of Marmaris and Icmeler where visitors find large indoor markets. The Turkish salesmen love haggling so look for a bargain and make an offer. There are several daily boat trips available from Turunc harbour to include sightseeing and scuba diving and there are regular taxi boats to take you to neighbouring bays.
