Agia Pelagia is a collection of small villages and beaches on the north coast of Crete, only 22 km from the capital Heraklion. The main beach is a narrow sandy strip with sun beds and umbrellas for hire and all kinds of water sports available. The boulevard next to the beach is scattered with tavernas, bars and cafes offering traditional Greek fare at reasonable prices. The little street "Odo Agia Pelagia" has a diversity of shopping attractions such as gold and silver shops, souvenir shops, internet cafes, an ATM, supermarkets and car hiring companies. West of the main beach there are three other remote beaches flanked by beautiful rocks and offering a peaceful environment.
