Agios Ioannis is situated in the south western coast of the island of Mykonos, just 4km from Mykonos Town, and 5km from the airport. The beach in Agios Ioannis has been awarded a blue flag in recognition of the quality of its water and is a mixture of sand and fine stones. From this beautiful beach visitors enjoy a magnificent view over the archaeological island of Delos. Olive trees run down to the beach and there are several outstanding hotels and a range of accommodation possibilities along with an adequate scattering of tavernas and bars. Aghios Ioannis makes a fine base for exploring the wide array of superb beaches, smaller villages in the hills and all the many attractions of the Island. The neighbouring Myloi area is popular with windsurfers and swimmers seeking undisturbed water head a little further north.
