Cala San Vicente is located on the north east corner of the island of Ibiza and situated on a staggeringly beautiful bay carved between imposing headlands. The beach of golden sand is wonderfully wide and never gets too full. Sparkling waters kiss the gently shelving sand, staying shallow for quite a way out to create a paddling paradise. Activities on hand include windsurfing (with school), banana boats and pedaloes. Palm trees are dotted along the small traffic-free promenade and beachside cafe seating overlooks a charming bay and the distant view to Es Figueral. There are a good number of shops, bars and restaurants along the length of the promenade and it is easy to enjoy a meal gazing out to sea with the moonlight dancing on the tranquil waters. Energetic walkers can follow the path inland to the Cova des Cuieram. Hidden in woods, ancient religious statues were found in this mysterious, now-closed cave, which commands breathtaking views. There is a local train to Portinatx with stunning scenery en-route and golf at the nearby course. Visitors also travel to chic Santa Eulalia or forage for bargains at Es Cana's Hippy Market.
