Calangute is in North Goa and is also known as the 'Queen of Beaches' due to its 7km long golden beach. Calangute was the first beach resort to be discovered when the hippies arrived and is still the most popular resort in Goa. There is a good selection of watersports available and the beach is ideal for children. Restaurants and nightlife are excellent in Calangute.
