Calella, part of the Spanish Catalonia region, is just 58 kilometres northeast of Barcelona, however the vibe here is very different from that of the city. The town has four beaches stretching three kilometres, all of which our generally uncrowded.
Those that want to explore a bit of culture can start off at the most prominent landmark, the church of Santa Maria. Also check out the Llobet-Guri Factory, which is the home of the old textile factory but now houses the local police, a cultural centre, musical school and sport centre.
However most of the action in Calella takes place on or near the beach. In the day you'll find numerous activities and the evening gets lively at the many beach bars and restaurants lining the shore. Hotels4u.com offers great deals on hotels in Calella as well as all along the Spanish coast including the Costa Dorada and Costa Blanca.
