Perhaps best known for the movie which shares its name, film fans will be delighted to find that Casablanca really does contain a bar called Rick’s Café, with a pianist called Hassam perfectly used to being asked to “play it again Hassam”. Although this isn’t the place in which the movie was filmed it’s still the perfect spot to while away a few hours in-between discovering Casablanca’s main tourist sites.
Hassan II Mosque might be the only mosque in the city that non-Muslims can visit but it’s easily the most impressive and a great example of Moroccan culture with traditional mosaics. Alternatively you could find out about the country’s Jewish history at the Museum of Moroccan Judaism or gaze in wonderment at the impressive Royal Palace of Casablanca.
The city’s hammans are perfect for tourists looking to pamper themselves in traditional style, whilst Casablanca’s beaches and popular beach clubs are ideal for relaxing and watching as time goes by…
