Cavelossim is a charming beach resort located in the quieter and more serene part of South Goa, next to Benaulim beach between the Arabian Sea and the Sal River. This upmarket region if full of exclusive luxury hotels attracting many international visitors. The beach at Cavelossim is a 10 km stretch of white sand, perfect for sunbathing and relaxing, shell collecting or the more active pursuits of water-skiing or kayaking. There are a variety of great beach shacks and restaurants offering delicious Goan dishes and wonderful fresh fish. Most of the entertainment revolves around the larger hotels on the beach, yet the resort is reasonably busy, with a good choice of shops, and has the typical village square housing the local church. This stretch of coastline includes the tranquil havens of Colva and Varca Beach, and is famous for its dolphin-watching boat trips up the River Sal. Visitors also explore the neighbouring villages and resorts by scooter, bike, or extremely reasonable local taxis. Dabolim airport is approximately 40 km away.
