Es Castell is a small, relaxing village with a Bohemian flavour, proud of its British ancestry and situated on the gently-sloping east coast, some 3km south of Mahon. There are no beaches in Es Castell, there are some a couple of kms away. Nightlife is centred around the harbour and is pretty laid back.
