Located to the north of London, Hertfordshire is the perfect destination for city-dwellers looking to escape the hustle and bustle of London for a few days. However, the county has plenty to offer visitors in its own right, from the tranquillity of Hatfield House to the adrenaline paced Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead.
The Natural History Museum in Tring is a great attraction for children, whilst adults could easily spend hours taking in the splendour of St Albans' Cathedral. In fact, St Albans is the first port of call for many visiting Hertfordshire and this pretty cathedral city has plenty to offer. Verulamium Park is the perfect spot for a picnic on a summer’s day, whilst the Mosquito Aircraft Museum has an incredible range of aircraft dating from pre WW2.
Alternatively you could spend time in Watford. Just minutes away from King’s Cross; this city offers cheap accommodation that makes for an alternative to London hotels. The nightlife here is pretty good and you can enjoy productions in the two theatres and the latest blockbusters in the Vue Cinema.
