Kalithea (Kallithea) is a short 7 km from Rhodes town, with several holiday hotels and amenities stretching along the beach. Kallithea Bay offers a glamorous setting of the magnificent Baths built by the Italians (no longer in operation), as well as delightful tiny inlets and coves with sculptured rocks and clear green water. There are a number of local villages in the area such as Koskinou with narrow streets and traditional tavernas, the lovely square at Kallithies perfect for Greek coffee or ouzo, or further in the hills among the trees is Psinthos with countryside walks and breathtaking views. Faliraki village is next to Kalithea and is famous for water sports and ancient sites such as Erimokastro, Sarantapihos and Acropolis as well as many Byzantine and post Byzantine churches in the area, decorated with beautiful frescos.
