Located 10km northwest of Samos Town on the north coast of Samos is picturesque Kokkari, a typically Greek village which, due to its popularity, is becoming more commercialised. Kokkari and its surrounding countryside of forests, olive groves and mountains attracts keen walkers. Buses and taxis are also available, and cars and bicycles can be hired. The main beach at Kokkari is long and pebbly and there are three other beautiful beaches nearby. Tzamadou Beach has good bathing with a nudist section at the west end. If you yearn for something more active than paddling in the sea and sunbathing at Kokkari, there are plenty of watersports to choose from which run in high season.Nightlife revolves around easygoing tavernas and restaurants, serving local and international dishes. There is a livelier feel to Kokkari due to some stylish bars and a couple of nightclubs, which attract a younger clientele.
