Ocho Rios is located in St. Ann's parish on a half-moon shaped cove in the middle of Jamaica's northern coastline. This pretty resort town was formerly a fishing port and also known for its banana exports. Stunning waterfalls and beaches edged with lovely white sand and unbelievable landscapes combine with interesting colonial period buildings like the Geddes Memorial Church and the Anglican Church. The most spectacular waterfall in Ocho Rios is the famous Dunn’s Rover Falls where the cool mountain waters plunge 600 feet to smooth limestone beds, and stream under the roadway before joining the turquoise Caribbean Sea. A number of activities are available in the area including horseback riding, polo, golf, tennis, shopping, scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, swimming, sunbathing and more. Sandal’s Golf course, the most elite course in Jamaica is nearby as are several restaurants serving traditional mouth watering Jamaican jerk pork and chicken.
