Troulos is a relaxing picturesque resort in a superb location on the south coast of the island of Skiathos. Surrounded by olive groves and scenic countryside, Troulos is the most developed tourist area outside of Skiathos Town. The magnificent beach is set in a protected bay and backed by dunes and pine woods. The marvellous wide stretch of incredibly soft fine golden sand sloping gently into a clear turquoise sea has excellent shallow blue-green water ideal for swimming and families with children. Watersports are available on the long, sandy beach and in the centre there is a small choice of supermarkets, bars and tavernas. For a livelier night out, Skiathos Town is just 10 km away by bus while Koukounaries is only 5 minutes drive in the opposite direction. Nightlife is relatively relaxed and is centred on a good selection of tavernas serving fresh fish near the beach and plenty more cafes, bars, restaurants and tavernas in Troulos village, which is set slightly back from the sea.
