Praia da Luz is a small fishing village in the Algarve, just west of the historic and vibrant town of Lagos. Its large blue flag beach is a wonderful attraction, to relax and soak up the sun, or have a go at the range of water sports on offer, including water-skiing and scuba diving. The cobbled streets of the original village are cool in the midday sun and lovely to stroll through, especially in the evenings after a delicious meal of fresh sardines (a Portuguese speciality!).
