Diving holidays in Sharm el Sheikh

For a stunning underwater experience in Egypt, diving holidays in Sharm el Sheikh are as good as it gets

Probably the best place in the world for underwater exploration, Sharm el Sheikh offers some of the best scuba diving and snorkelling in the world. If you're new to diving, there are some superb courses for beginners that will introduce you to amazing underwater scenery with coral gardens, deep blue canyons and thousands of species of amazingly colourful fish as well as turtles, manta rays, sharks and dolphins.

If you don't want to do a dive course, you can enjoy many of these delights just by snorkelling - the seabed close to the coast is like some gigantic coral aquarium, teeming with life. It is home to some fascinating species of almost un-naturally colourful fish, including the coral grouper (a bizarre looking red fish with blue spots), Napoleon wrasse (a fairly large fish with what looks like a large bump on its forehead), parrotfish (spectacularly colourful fish, as you might imagine from the name), butterfly fish (beautiful thin fish that always swim around in pairs), map angelfish (a gorgeous vivid blue and yellow fish) and scorpion fish (a peculiar looking fish with long, elegant spikes).

There are many dive sites along the 10 mile beach between Sharm el Sheikh and Ras Nusrani. Some of the most famous sites include Ras Mohammed and Tiran Island and there are some amazing shipwrecks to discover, for more experienced divers. Visibility is excellent and the waters deliciously warm – with an average temperature of 20-26*C throughout the year.

When you're back on land after a day's wonderment in the sea, you can enjoy the celebrated Sharm nightlife, with dozens of cool bars and clubs - and of course you can look forward to kicking back at of our fantastic hotels in Sharm el Sheikh.
