"the hotel is just around the corner from baker street under ground so location is excellent.for a cheap stay really isn't that bad."

Would not recommend this hotel to friends. Obviously in middle of renovation. Bedroom very sparse. Minimal of everything. Staff not very friendly. Had to ask for hairdryer.

After reading the reviews i was really worried about our stay.however it wasn't that bad. The man on reception was one of the most pleasant receptionist I've met in while.we had a chocolate on our fresh towels which was nice,we have stayed in dearer hotels and they didn't put chocolate in room.we were given fresh towels and our bed was made next day while we were out. the hotel just needs a good spring clean, new carpet and a sprucing of paint then it would be a lot better.it was clean enough and sheets were fine.bathroom was small but at least it was on-suite.no drinks facility's in room, however there was drink facility's downstairs.rooms don't have hair dryers neither.but they do have tvs.there was just something spilled on wall and dust behind cupboards and loo needs a good clean.the somerset hotel just needs some tlc.there are some beautiful period features in the rooms and around hotel. hotel was noisy as you could here the under ground, and there appeared to be a heard of elephants stomping above us all night.but that is not the hotels fault. the hotel is just around the corner from baker street under ground so location is excellent.for a cheap stay really isn't that bad.if ocd cleaners and 60 minuet make over ever were to do there thing at the hotel,it would be a lot better as it has so much potential.over all enjoyed our stay and we would stay again. we missed breakfast so cant comment. but there is a lovely cafe called dorset cafe around the corner cost 12 for two full English breakfasts and drinks.they were presented lovely and beans were in a little pot which was a nice idea. If you've already booked hotel don't worry about bad reviews really isn't that bad."

There were a number of problems which I believe were down to every room being used, one or two of which should not have been. I was moved to another room the next day but it was not much better. The hotel manager is very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is relaxed. It is a superb location with three useful tube lines and a dozen or so bus routes, it is easy to pop back during the day. The road passing the front is quite busy though and noisy at night. There are lots of eateries nearby but if you use the nearest one check your change.
