Local tips: Only a few km away is the centre of Kos and the Museum built in the 1930’s to house then recently discovered and recovered artefacts from excavations happening around the island; which when discovered place Kos at the centre of the Greece of antiquity rather than the sleepy fishing village it had become by the 1930’s. The Museum is visited by thousands every year and is truly well worth a daytrip.
